Ashley Olafsen is a Freshman at UMass Amherst who is passionate about self esteem, body image, media representation, mental health, and all things that hold back teenagers from reaching their full potential. She has created and delivered numerous self confidence workshops to girls all over New England.  Furthermore, this past summer she co created and directed a five day summer program. There were 43 attendees from 7 different towns!  As the co founder of MOVE, she draws on her own personal experiences to make the most impact possible.

She was a speaker at the 2014 MASSCue Conference in Foxboro, MA and a speaker at the 2015 CoSN International Symposium in Atlanta, GA. She has also given a TEDx on why media diversity is important.  She creates and sends out a weekly newsletter, and has done so for over 70 weeks.  Additionally, she has spent the past two and a half years writing a book and is currently waiting on a literary agent to get back to her. She also creates club content for her shared company, MOVE, and there are two MOVE clubs as of now.  Finally, she is a member of the inaugural class of the Global Youth Advisory Council, directed by The Representation project.  She looks forward to publishing her book and doing more speaking engagements.  To see Ashley’s website, speeches, or to sign up for her weekly newsletter, click here: http://moveofficial.weebly.com/
